Wrapping it up in the Ice

With prior commitments for Saturday, the last day here in NJ, I took today off after the snow storm yesterday to get in one last hunt of the season.

Brutal cold with a heavy Northwest wind and flood tides greeted me at the ramp but I made my way out for an afternoon hunt after cleaning up the snow at home.

It wasn't the hot and heavy shoot I was expecting but with the way the season has gone in recent weeks I'm not one to complain. I wasn't quite 'on the X' but I was still able to scratch out a few more birds on the season.

Now I just need everything to defrost before I can start putting things away and fogging my outboard, with the way the weather is shaping up I might be waiting a while.

That's one chubby black duck!

Craig, your veins must be flowing with anti-freeze! All I can say is that you are one very persistent duck hunter. Good for you. Congratulations on those four trophies!

Rich - I live on the northern part of the shore and we see next to zero snows, however they are thick to the west and south of me. I haven't done a snow goose hunt in years though, just don't have the rig.

Craig,

It looks like you have had a great season. I really appreciate you taking us out with you on a few of your trips.
