As my search has progressed, I have refined the boats I am looking for.
So, I thought I would start a new thread.

I have sold my 1440mv and I am in the market for a deep, wide 14-16' semi-v.
My first choices are walk-thru floor plans:
  1. Grumman 145SS or 165SS (Split Seat)
  2. Sylvan/Smokercraft Alaskan 15 DLX
  3. Sylvan/Smokercraft 14' Super Snapper
  4. Lund SSV-14' or 16' (cant seem to find to many of these for sale though and the ones I have seen are way out of my price range)
  5. Other similar hull
Second choice is a 16' hull with all bench seats. Including Lund S- or WC-16, Starcraft, Alumacraft V16, Grummans, Sylvans, Smokercrafts, etc..

Prefer short transom, a 25hp and galvanized trailer. If hull only, definately a short transom since my buddy has an older 25 Johnson I can borrow.

I am willing to drive a ways to get one in good shape. Prefer within 8-9 hours of Mobile, but I am open to entertain anything within a full days drive (15-17 hours).

If you have one you need to sell, or know of one for sale, please shoot me a PM or email at carl.ferraro@dcnr.alabama.go .
Even if it doesn't exactly fit my descriptions above, shoot it to me.
I will bump this up every other week or so.
Thanks guys!

Funny you suggest that:
A guy at work told me Frifay that he just ordered a 1648NCS Flat Bottom from Alumacraft, I could not believe the price he got.
I may to talk to the salesman he worked with to see if I can swing it. BUt since I have to get a motor & trailer as well, its going to be tough.

I would not even consider a flat jon boat.
Definately a deep mod-v if I stick with a jon boat style hull.

i have a alumacraft mod-v all welded 1650 i am selling. boat and trailer only, and a custom flip down blind if wanted
the boat is in great shape i cant get pics to up load i can email them if interested

John, If it was 16', I would be thinking about it!
If I go with a MV-jon, it needs to be a 14 footer.
Thanks!

I would probably leave it in place and use the below deck area for storage.
Working on getting some pics of the inside to see what I would have to work with.
