I'm thinking of building another Zack Taylor wigeon sneakbox but would like some opinions on some proposed modifications. I'm thinking that instead of tapering the boat back to the stern, leaving the width at 46 1/2 inches wide (mold B which is 5'1 1/8 " from stern) to the transom (total length of boat is 11 ' 9"). I would also leave the height of the finished side planks the same from mold B back to the transom. Also, I would alter the V bottom from a ratio of 8" to 1 1/2" from mold B back to something with less of a V (flatter). This will result in a deeper and flatter boat in the stern that should be able to plane. How would the sea worthy capabilities be affected (I love my current one, but it isn't fast enough with a 6 hp)? What would be the resulting requirements for power be (maybe 9.9)? I like the build process of the boat and would like to build one that is capable of covering more ground faster but still be very stable. Any opinions or comments you guys may have would be appreciated. Thanks!
