PHOTOS: 43rd Annual NJ Tuckerton Decoy & Gunning Show September 27-28

I was just about to post that that is a great picture! Sweet looking ruddy too. Who made it? I'd love to see a couple better pictures of it.

His name was John. I was talking to Anthony when my son must have spotted some of his work. John came over and was showing my son a goose call with some bands on it. Next thing I know, he was gifting him that beautiful ruddy duck decoy. After, John and I chatted for a bit. I was incredibly grateful. My son had been talking about this show for 2 weeks now. He's been very excited for it.

Unfortunately, I lost John's card. My pockets were full of all sorts of goodies my son picked up: candy, fruit snacks, American flag pins, kids duck calls, etc.

I'm sure someone here will be able to point me in the right direction with these pics. He was out of Ohio.

My son insisted the ruddy duck go on his bedroom dresser next to his aquarium. I didn't realize the theme decoy of the show was a ruddy until today.

I like that kid already! I love kids (though I don't have any) and hearing stuff like this is great. He will remember that story forever. I'm a big fan of ruddys and ruddy decoys too.

When I saw it was a ruddy, I was happy. It was one of the first ducks I was fascinated with when I started hunting at the young age of 30. This little guy will have a head start on me. That's for sure.

Saturday was his first exposure to shooting, as well. He did great. So great, in fact, he didn't want to leave the skeet competition area. He sat there with his ear-pro on, clutching his ruddy duck decoy.
