Rehabbing more LL Beans Coastals - Mallards & Blacks

Steve - Great job! You've inspired me to break out my old Black Beaners and change them over to Mallards. (No Black Ducks in Montana!) Keep it up! -

Converting/Rigging a fiberglass (Aeromarine) BBSB for sail.

I had a feeling you would reply Steve, almost contacted you direct! It might be a displacement hull. I'll take some pics and email them to see what you think. My grandfather had that Chapelle book, it ruined me! I'll have to look for one and the other book looks interesting too. The whole thing...

Converting/Rigging a fiberglass (Aeromarine) BBSB for sail.

Has anyone ever done this or heard or seen anyone doing this? Need to expand my range without gas or sweat. I figure the centerboard trunk and mast step would be the big jobs. Also wondering where sail plans can be found. I've sailed a lot and duck hunted a couple times. Maybe I'll do both? -

    lake bonneville layouts

That's pretty funny, I was going to see if you wanted to buy my LB Layout (Big Brother). I only used it a couple times, but I like it. Just not many uses for it yet in Montana. Great layout! I might ship it to AK someday though if I don't sell it. -

    Banded Geese

Nice find Jack! In the past I've seen a Barnacle Goose in R.I. and Eurasian Widgeon on both coasts. I even saw a Common (European) Teal when I was kid in Pt Washington! You never know, huh? -

NDR Pacific NW, Seattle and Victoria Canada area

I'd spend the whole week on the Olympic Peninsula. Hoh rain forest, Neah Bay, Quinault Lodge, Dungeness Spit, Port Townsend. Then head south for Westport, Long Beach Peninsula, and Cape Disapointment. Great area. I was just there! -

    Northern Flight vs. Beaver tail

I love my Beavertail but there is one thing I've never seen anyone complain about (except me in my head). The Beavertail folds to one side. If you are out in the right conditions with freezing spray, it could be dangerous with all that ice building up on one side. I had to stop and break it up...

    Great South Bay Broadbill Hunt

Great stuff Steve! I had relatives out of Babylon that used to live out near Captree and Oak Island back in the early 1900's. Before the bridge. That pic near my name is one of them and his scooter! Too crowded for me nowadays..... -

    Argo: Getting Stuck

Worth - We have 2 argos at the lodge I work at in AK. We hardly use them anymore because of mechanical issues. And also because they've been replaced by the big Polaris 4 seaters. We've never got the Argos stuck. Not much mud. They do rattle and bump along pretty good. The one with tracks has a...

    More Uncle Ted

I'm with you Worth. Didn't Uncle Ted say he would either be dead or in jail if Obama is reelected? Never too late Ted. Good time of year to shake that nest. -

    need suggestions

I've had Stieners for years, until they started to fog up. Now for the past 3 years I've been wearing Leupolds. So far so good. The more money you spend, the better they get, pretty much. Check out birdwatcher's reviews on binos. They're smarter than duckhunters and have more money. haha (joke) -
