First sneak boat

Hello all. I've been lurking around here for a bit and ended up building my own sneak boat (with no real plans). So far, it is pretty entertaining and I'm learning a lot. I will definitely be building another duck boat again (most likely the Devlin Honker stretched out to 20ft). Here is some pictures and a link to my build video for those of you that care to watch. I love the comentary in the video's. Sounds a lot like me when I built my first boat! I have yet to follow any real plans myself. My current boat is based off of the Devlin snow goose. I found a free hull design software and used it to get the basic hull shape and maximize the utlization of the plywood. there were some lessons learned along the way and when this one finally dies I will be makeing the same one again with a few minor changes. I look forward to seeing some pics of your boat in the water.

My Kara while attaching plastic fence material. When fully brushed in the ducks have no idea you are there. I later mounted a 2hp mud motor about where I am standing. Almost scary fast but beats poling.

Hell yea. I'm also gonna be using the fencing materials. I've got a 3.3hp outboard for mine, so I guess I'll be terrified to let her rip. Lol

Good to know others have went through the same things 😂😂. I'll definitely be carrying on the lessons learnt with this build to the next build.
 
The kayak carry handles are holding up OK but I don't use them to lift the boat but rather to drag it short distances. My Kara with the addition of a blind and longtail motor is quite heavy. The additional weight limits where you can launch so it is a bit of a challenge finding water easy to get to that still holds birds. The Devlin Poleboat 13 I am just finishing will be oars only and with the V bottom much easier to drag.

Hello again. I'm finishing up the lights right now. For those of you that have a mounted spot/flood light on your sneak boat, where do you prefer the light be mounted? Attached are the two positions I'm trying to choose between. Which one is least affected by early morning fog? Thanks
