Hunting the weather

I am as well Eric, supposed to be at work Saturday, gonna try and plan a hunt Friday morning and pm before I then scratch my head how to get in to my shift.

I’ve also had whatever is going around and it sucks balls. Missed 1/2 a week of scuba diving for the new year … the people that gave me this crud says it takes about 3 weeks to get over … I’m about 1.5 weeks in

I was, until I wound up in the hospital for a week getting an implanted defibrillator and a new heart valve tomorrow. Hate getting old.

Our Delaware Bay tidal marshes are frozen up pretty good now, so that is a no go for now, but I do have an invite for a Saturday field hunt, so that should be good.

Don Novicki, glad to hear you are OK and hoping for your speedy recovery and good health going forward.

Carl

We got about 4" and it is still coming down lightly. We did hunt this morning. One gadwall between the four of us. We had greater expectations but the cold spell isn't done so we are going to try again Sunday.

Thank you guys for all the well wishes. I am back home now, tired but alive and that is a good thing. I can tell you that I coded twice in the hosp., so I am grateful to still be walking this earth. My hunting is done until spring turkey, but I'm ok with that. In case anyone is wondering I live 15 miles west of Erie Pa, in Girard. Since Thanksgiving night we have received over 112" of snow. I am glad I got to put the Ariens to good work before the roof caved in. Thanks again fellas.

Decided to get out with some college kids who really have never shot ducks. Few short of a 5 man. Probably have one more weekend in me before I call it quits. Exhausted is an understatement at this point for me. All I asked was shoot drakes…. The one with green heads. Well that spooner had no chance with those youngins. Fun hunt for sure.
