I bought mine in 2020 (so it's technically the Duck Invader). In 2023 I switched from natural grass to using grass matts for the flappers and the deck. Collected grass from where I hunt for the grass rails. Motor cover from bags by Diane (I see another post on here that she may reopen the shop for another week.... definitely worth getting) Every year I tweak it a little more and it hides a little better, but this should give you an idea of what my set up looks like. Pic on the trailer from when I first switched to grass matts. Pic in the water from a year or so ago when I returned to the dock to give you an idea of how it sits in the water (kept my faceless buddy in pic for scale). Front flapper is up (side flappers were already removed for trip home).
I regularly hunt two out of it. Once 2 guys and a small dog. No problems.
For years I used the 4 rivers BAR seats, which worked nice, but.. last year I switched to using these
https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/cabelas-hunting-lounger and it was a comfort game changer. They sit a little higher, but at my age its worth it. When fishing season comes around I use swivel Dove chairs to sit on.
As to the add-ons...One 'extra' that I really like having is the decoy curtains. Helps keep everything nice and tidy in its place. I like the grass rail during hunting season. But if there is no grass in them, they shoot water back into the boat. No big deal, I just remove them at the end of the season before I go fishing. Just something worth noting.
Overall, I'm very happy with this boat. It meets all my needs, is a pleasure to hunt out of and I definitely feel safer than in the Jon boat I used to have.
