The first part of building the cockpit was to layout the lines for where the ribs will be cut. Most sneakboxes I have seen use a rectangular opening. I prefer to mirror the curvature of the side planking. The plans call for 11 1/2" off of the edge. There is a 1/2" cockpit liner that is attached to the ribs after they are cut.

Kudos for the shapely cockpit! In my view, 'tis the only way to go.

I resurrected one on a Dodge & Krowl Scooter a few years back....



The coamings were installed after I 'glassed the decks.
