Richard, these where taken in Barnegat Light the man in the photos is of Peachy Perrine of barnegat light and the sneakbox is built by Rube Corlies of manahawkin and by the looks this is the 1920 to 1939 style of rubes sneakbox style

Great pictures. Alamy charges a fair amount for their picture's if you don't want the watermark. Any idea if they are in the National Archives, Library of Congress, or other open free source? On more than one occasion I've found Alamy and similar charging for pictures available to the public for free.

Eric, I would have to look i know the ones Kodak did in the 1930s with some of my family members and other baymen from the area are free because copyright ran out

I know for years I have crabbed, clammed, fished and hunted out of my boxes. They are great all around craft

Thanks for the information. The photographer H. Armstrong Roberts seems to have been Philadelphia based. There are photos of his I have seen in magazines from the 1920s. There are several sequences of photos there.
