Who's out this morning?

Didn't open here until this morning (11/28) Had a nice 2 man start. Probably could have scratched out a limiting 4th if we had stayed out a little longer but had other things that needed to be done. 90% of what we saw were Cans, truly enjoyed that part of it.
OPENING DAY 2025 - Copy.jpg

Got after grouse again this morning. Put up a half dozen in an hour, then a group of five. That was unexpected. The bell on Gunner brought mixed results, just to confuse. My wife likes to hunt birds and came today. We had a good time until Gunner yelped. He got a small stick in his right eye socket. I pulled it out gently, and he was happy as can be and wanted to keep hunting. We're pretty sure it missed his eyeball, but we packed up, closed the house and headed home to see the vet. Fun six hour drive, after we get a bite to eat, it's off to the clinic. Our biggest concern right now is infection. What a day.

SJ,
Gunner had good reason to yelp. The same thing happened to me in northern Minnesota even though I religiously wear shooting glasses. Hurt like hell! We went to the ophthalmologist immediately and sure enough, a visible scratch on the cornea. You are a good dog dad for taking him to the vet. Yes, it is serious. RM
