New Members Please Introduce Yourselves

In the last 12 months there have been approximately 500 people register for duckboats.net and accepted. This represents about 50% of the total. That other 50% are folks who did not use their real name and likely were spammer/scammers or were flagged as such by a service we use to recognize these sub-humans. In case you wonder why I enforce the real name rule it's because it is one of the best lines of defense against bots, spammers, and scammers.

Another interesting trend is a large percentage of new members are from the northeast. I suspect part of that is because of the rich tradition of duck boats from this region. There are probably other reasons but I don't know specifically what they are, but I'd like to.

With all that said if you are new to the site please introduce yourself and tell us how you ended up here. Welcome aboard!

Hi there, greetings from Sydney, Australia.
Google led me here, well actually to Henry’s 2025 Devlin Snow Goose build thread, while I was researching build resources for my own build which is Devlin’s Cackler 14. Even though I’m a good way through, I’ll start a build thread so you can see what I’m up to.

Good Evening,

I’ve been a member for a while and lurked on and off. This site seems like the best resource for information on small duck boats. Have been using a 12’ Bankes Intruder as a marsh boat for over a decade, but will need to get it rebuilt or may be looking for something slightly larger. Currently hunting out of a layout blind up on the marsh.

Hello,
I haven’t posted much. But I started reading through the forum when looking up specifics about decoy carving and boat maintenance (currently have a 15’ duck wrangler). Aside from just looking up questions, I’ve found a lot of really interesting discussion on here.
I live near Baltimore and frankly don’t know many waterfowlers in the real world, so it’s also been nice for me to see some experiences others have had.

Hello,
Just joined up, long time waterfowler, good with a push pole, was better when I was younger, that balance thing! Spent a lot of time on the public marsh's of MN pushing a Grumman Sport Boat, eventually teamed it up with a 1972 Johnson 6 hp. I have no time on a mud motor but plan on getting one. I let my nephew take over my old Grumman and now I am researching other hunting boats which lead me here.
