Brad, I had a '93 maine built classic tdb. About 7 years ago the company told me that they were strong enough to break ice, and I did that a time or two. no problems. don't know if that helps.

Kevin, The Commander isn't a sit-on-top. It's considered a hybrid between a kayak and canoe. There are no drain scuppers on the commander like you'd find on a sit-on. It also has a tunnel-type hull, unlike the v-hull of your pamlico. How stable is the pamlico. what type of waters do...

Just bolt a mounting plate for your trolling motor off to the side of the existing motor board. I've seen pictures of them on here, but have never done it. I've also seen a pic of a boat with two shorttail mud motors on his tab. don't know how he did it.

I think your options with a TDB are no different than any other boat really. I think the most important thing to consider is the dog's "ability" and your concerns. That is, if your dog is steady, you could have him sit on a platform outside the boat. If you're more concerned about concealing...

Don't know about a longtail. Lots of guys use a 25 hp tiller. Once I let Hoss sit on the bow, that's the only place he wanted to hunt from. I preferred him inside.
