    South Bay Duck Boat Seating

Yes exactly. The way I did it the past season, the doors were a little tall and when in the down position sometimes dragged in the water if it got a little choppy

    South Bay Duck Boat Seating

Thanks! I was sitting on milk crates last season, but wanting to get a lot lower. High tide my profile was way taller than my surroundings and stuck out a little bit. Was either thinking cut a milk crate in half, or just sit on a cushion

    South Bay Duck Boat Seating

That is a great idea! 99% of the time I am shooting over the port side of the boat, so I can leave starboard side a little longer. Just want to get the profile of the boat down around 6 inches. Used the build I attached you did as a guideline when doing my own!

    South Bay Duck Boat Seating

That was an idea. My plan is to take about 6 inches off the doors this off season. Thanks! I also have the square throwable floatation. Think maybe these could work too if life jackets worked for you

    South Bay Duck Boat Seating

Steve, Sat on turned over milk crates which worked great! Just want to lower everything (seats and doors). High tide we kind of stuck out being much higher than everything. Was thinking maybe I could just cut them in half ?

    South Bay Duck Boat Seating

Hey guys, 1 year into trial and error with my South Bay. Awesome boat killed alot of ducks out of it and hid better than expected. Only upgrade Im doing it shortening my doors. Hang too far and with the upgraded hp, drags a little. What are you guys using for seating to sit side by side with...

Southbay duckboat who owns them ?

Bill, before I did anything with the boat i took it in the water and double checked everything. So far, no leaks. I did reinforce the floor with 2 extra stringers, one where each shooter will be sitting. Id give the boat a 9/10 once completed to how I wanted it. It hides well, handles great and...

Southbay duckboat who owns them ?

I gotta say Im extremely impressed with the pvc. Ive abused my doors alot by throwing them down whenever I shoot and they held up nice. Grass rails held up even better. All kept together with stainless, it should last me a while

Southbay duckboat who owns them ?

Bob, I made my boards out of cut down pvc board. I made them that height to allow me to sit on something, in my case a milk crate, and sit side by side with another hunter. Works out well in my opinion

Southbay duckboat who owns them ?

Thats exactly what I did. Yea it gets cramped, but sitting on milk crates definitely helps! Made my doors alot higher to allow that

Southbay duckboat who owns them ?

Bob, I had a keyhole boat, but since acquiring the boat last year I had cut the widened front cockpit and narrowed ot to allow for doors and 2 shooters sitting side by side

Hey Bill, A little late to the party here, but I currently run a South Bay. Started as the Mike Marren ?keyhole?. I cut that part out and reglassed the cockpit as I hunt 2 people from the marsh side by side. I ran a 9.9 way under powered, picking up a 20 hp this weekend. Let me know and I will...

Good morning Steven, Cutting open the cockpit is going to be the move I do, following your sketches and dimensions you gave me! Just one question, how would you secure the wooden frame to the fiberglass? Thank you!
