    Way over-due Cackler Update

Trex is some pretty good stuff. I used it for the keel of my poleboat when I built it and now this past winter machined some into gunnel strips replacing some rotten pine. It took a lot of trial and plenty of error to get it right but today I glassed the bottom first coat. Fall is coming fast.

    Epoxy Shelf Life Questions

I am using some MAS to redo the bottom of my Poleboat that I think is from 2000 and the only problem is there isn't enough to go around so I need to go shopping tomorrow. It set up fine.

    Devastating Weekend...

My condolences on the loss of your buddy, their life span is a cruel trick on us. You are in good company here, we all understand that it sucks every time but remember the good times. We have been there and will be again.

duckboats.net is 10 (now 20). Can you believe it?

I also cannot believe how the time has flown. Seems like yesterday a friend told me about this website that I might like. All I can really do is put random memories into words. Boats built, best friends forever, support through tuff times (thanks all), Argentina, dogs and hunting partners gone...

I broke the engine on my Merry Meeting Bay Scull Float

Brings to mind a trick that may help someone get home someday. If you break a shear pin save the pieces and install out of order so one long piece will catch the prop then EASY DOES IT and you can make the access under power. Another one that works if you are fishing is to pack the shear pin...

    Possible Hip Issues?

Carl, Best of luck to you and the pup. We are going through some of that with my wifes' dog now. He is 12 and having seizures. Get your buddy checked out by a vet and at least you will know what it is not or what it is then ? Shiny side up..

I broke the engine on my Merry Meeting Bay Scull Float

Gordon, Thanks for the specifics. With some more info you could search and compare part numbers. That would narrow it down.

I broke the engine on my Merry Meeting Bay Scull Float

Scott is right and the doner looks like a match. The people on this site are a generous bunch (right Phil) and like I said you might have trouble even finding parts for that little jewel.OMC is very good with the interchange issue so you might be able to just change over te whole lower unit.

I broke the engine on my Merry Meeting Bay Scull Float

Yup, I am here. Don't do anything foolish. Take the prop off and see if you can turn the shaft, you shouldn't. If I remember right that one doesn't have a neutral, does it? Parts for the weedless lower unit can be VERY expensive if they are even available. Post what you find, I do love those...
