    Can silhouettes be too big?

George....hahahaha...I grew up in Illinois and they can't pronounce anything right. I used to compete against a town called San Jose.....pronounced San Joe's...not Hose A! And another town of Athens......with a long A sound. Dave

    1966 Crestliner North Star project

Chris - here is a couple pics to show you the mounting holes. The first pic shows the bottom mount pin hole, mine was the lowest or closest pin hole to the stern. The second pic shows the top pin hole (pointed at). If your friend has these mount holes, you should be in business. Dave

Couldn't let Dave have all the fun.

Did you buy that from a roadside stand or is that one of those "photo backdrops" where they hand you a pole and a fake fish and for $5 you can get your picture taken? Looks like it was taken at the local Cabelas or Bass Pro Shops. Good looking fish Pete and great location. Dave

    Beavertail blind question

Bob- I have built a couple of different blinds for my boats over the years and always find mistakes and improvements along the way. There are some very good Youtube videos that show guys building their own blinds and some are really clever. The best thing I can say about the videos is that they...

    1966 Crestliner North Star project

Chris, it all depends on the connecting points. I will take some photos of my connecting points tonight and post them. If he has those, he should be fine for installing a trim motor. If you have the model number, I can look up the Illustrated Parts Breakdown and see if his model even had the...

Joe - Thanks, boat is working out very well. Yes, KC tends to pout a bit if he doesn't get the nod to tag along. I usually always bring him along, but with the new boat and still trying to figure out how everything works/acts/feels...I figured I would leave him behind until I get the fishing...

Good news for you guys who hunt & fish the Chesapeake

Thanks Carl. Yes, everyone is hoping for big things from the Bay this year. They are claiming crabs will be plentiful this year and the Rockfish season seems to have started off well. Time will tell. Dave

Wiz Boz - everyday that I can be with my wife, kids, boats, dogs.......and doing anything............. outside is a satisfying day. For those that have sharp eyes and like to study pics........if you look at the pic of me holding the fish, in the back right corner of the boat you will see what...

    1966 Crestliner North Star project

Still trying to figure out how to break loose the trim motor pins......but that can wait. Boat still operates just fine for now and I'm not going to worry about it while there are fish to be caught and fun to be had with the boat. Took it out today with a buddy and checked out her abilities in...

New product - may be of interest to DBHF folks

I absolutely can't stand my current gas can since I think it makes me spill more fuel with all of it's "safety features" than if it didn't have any. I have ordered two (one for a buddy) and will let you know how they work out. Thanks for the info. Dave

    Ponton/Bridge Boat

All boats are definitely NOT created equal. Just as soon as you build/buy a boat to correct one problem or deficiency, you find out it has another flaw. This boat should be a great fit for the type of hunting they do and the conditions/area they hunt in. Deeper sides and a more stable platform...

    Ponton/Bridge Boat

I think it weighs in around 700 lbs without the motor. I'm sure you could get it for a steak if you could find one at a government auction. Dave
