    Lost Alviso scull boat plans

Great! The only plans I have are printed jpg files off the net from 10 years or so ago. I'll try to change the file type and send them to you. I'd hate to see them lost for eternity. Apparently, the Alviso was a popular design in the SF bay years ago.

    Lost Alviso scull boat plans

Not sure if this is the place, but I just felt inclined to post a copy of some very old scull boat plans I found years ago. Its for a south bay sneak boat, better known as an Alviso scull boat. I built a modified version years ago and use it to this day. Enjoy OK... I tried to attach HEIC...

No Name Scull Boat Build......update........ We named her the Double Nickel.........

Wow. Revisiting this thread just leaves me in awe of the planning and work that went into this build. I did decide to build another duck boat, but it will be a much easier build. Someday, I may tackle something like this. A belated thank you again Dale. This thread should be preserved for eternity!

No Name Scull Boat Build......update........ We named her the Double Nickel.........

Dale No worries if its too much trouble, however I remember it being a very interesting build and I expect others might think so too. If it were in some format where newcomers (or old guys) could access your ideas and any success you had, that would be pretty cool.

    Old Scull Boat, New project

Nice find! I'd love to restore an old original alviso. I built one about 10 years ago from the same plans Bob pictured, however I modified them a bit I think to shorten... and build sealed stitch and glue. Very durable boat. Sculled many, many ducks with my modified alviso.

Dale My name is Troy Nicolls. I was a member of the scullers net back in 2012 or so?? I built a stitch and glue Alviso at the time, which I still use today. Anyway, I remember following your build posts (and OLD Leonard jokes) about the two sculls you've discussed here. The pictures in this post...

    Kevlar / carbon-- Worth it?

Dave With all your boat building experience, I'm sure you have heard of this technique , but Ill throw it out anyway. Many if not most wood driftboat builders mix graphite powder in their final epoxy coat which goes on the bottom of their boats. I have done this myself as it looks really cool...
