    Atlantic Brant study, very cool.

I have shot three double banded brant, all three I saw the bands before I shot. The stainless ones practically glow in the sunshine.

New old boat - help with maker and age

The hull design most closely resembles a Heinrich 'speed box' They had the hard chine in the stern with the flat bottom for speed. This one appears set up to gun over the stern (motor) with the dog box behind the main cockpit.

    NJ North Opener

I only have one goose band as I don't do much goose hunting. Shot that one over a puddle duck spread in the ice. I do have three double banded brant though. Usually average about one banded bird a season so I guess I got it out of the way early this year! Interesting to me that this bird...

    NJ North Opener

Very nice Randy! I had the day off today and got a nice surprise, my first ever banded teal. Two year old greenwing from Ontario up north of Michigan... long way east for this little bird.

    Mercury Or Yamaha?

All my small motors are yamahas, albeit their bulletproof two strokes. I have been a yamaha guy through and through, but have 350 Mercury Verados on my fishing boat and they are amazing. They really made me come around on Merc.

New to the forum! Heres my higbee!

That is the deal of the century on that yamaha. I know a guy who sold one for $3k... I don't believe higbees were foam cored, usually just had plywood coring on the transom, but they were built by a few different entities over the years so that could vary.

    Navigation app...

For larger bodies of water Navionics is great. I use it as a backup gps for offshore trips and it has helped me in a pinch in the fog duck hunting too.

    Hunting Etiquette in your area

I want to know what has happened to common courtesy of giving ample room to other parties on the marsh and even rarer, 'letting the birds work' if you are in tight proximity to another party. I've had outstanding hunts for myself and other parties where we set up close to each other but were...

Great show today in Tuckerton. I had a quick question for the NJ guys

Not illegal, just a different style from the long island grass boats. I grew up gunning out of a southbay so my sneakbox has grass rails similar to the southbay style. My roy boat has the netting, so best of both worlds!

I should be there walking around if I'm not in cape cod chasing bluefin.

    2018 Waterfowl Survey Results

The lower gadwall numbers is pretty interesting. I've seen (and harvested) more of them every year the last five to six seasons.

    South Bay Spa Treatment - 2018 #1

Steve your level of detail and attention to the small things is the best part of these threads. Decades of experience wrapped up into the specific modifications needed. I too had a cox trailer for many years that went with one of my previous sneakboxes. I wish they still made tilt trailers...

    Wing Survey

It's a shame they only let you do it three? years in a row. I was happy to send them in but I reached the maximum consecutive years apparently.

Happy Birthday to one of the last true waterfowling resources on the interwebs.

    Higbee Identification

The hull ID tag is what the NJ state police issue upon completing an inspection of "homemade" boats for seaworthiness. It's the same hull ID tag found on most sneakboxes in this state, including all from the 'heritage' builders like Heinrich, Hunt, Fricke, Simonsen, etc. as at the end of the...

I got a few new canvas decoy bags to go along with my Estuary

Jeff beat me to it. I was going to say my decoy bags are a lovely hue of sea grass and barnegat bay mud compared to those new ones!
