No road food for us, we are still eating our leftovers. Were almost into Iowa, wind here is cranking. Lots of geese in Illinois and Indiana but a lot of crashed 18 wheelers in Pennsylvania and Ohio. We hope to keep cruising all night.

    Big News!

We are really looking foward to escaping the winter dulldrums, actualy living out there for a bit will allow us to see if we truly like it. Im realy hoping it doesnt dump snow before or during our ride. Its kind of a long ride to where we actually were looking at houses but this location will...

    Black and white

You need a scull boat, its nice being able to play with the untouchable birds in open water. But for some reason gaddies make me every single time, i need a west coast boat for them

    Long Slow Day

I knew this law existed, but what do they do with the bird? Could you ask the warden for the meat? Most states have a quirky law or two if you go through them all.

    Finally got the seacoast out.

I followed hank shaw’s guidelines for the temp/cook time. 450-475 for 20-25 min. Look up honest-food.com I stuffed the cavity with onions garlic and a bay leaf, the breast side was rubbed with oil, salt, pepper, rosemary, thyme, and garlic. Came out awesome, big ol fat mallards are delicious...

Duck season has yet to begin for me

Yep they are tog and basically the only species you can regularly get with a spear in CT. If it is clear they will come over and investigate you. They are very inquisiative, if vis drops below 4 ft, they are unbelievably jumpy and its very hard to get a shot.

    Bacon is cheaper than raincoats

Thanks for the story. Good title too! A set of carhart or grundens rain gear is on the christmas list this year. Im tired of my drake rainjacket springing new leaks, ill definetly need good rain gear in the PNW. A buddy from VT lives in wheelock and sent me a picture of bacon for 9.19$ a...

    No whine today

There was a little whining from me about the messed up vis from the front, no spearing this weekend. That was fixed with the other kind of wine though. The wineberry wine i made earlier this summer is quite delicious! I love my little savage 17 hmr. Its a tack driver even with a cheap scope...
