Yeah, I probably wasn't clear about that. I hunt the Canadian prairies. Most hunts are too short. We like to make it challenging by only hunting one species or only drakes.

Am I the only one? Just watched a clip of some early season hunting in Saskatchewan. The "boss" in the group yells "kill em" to signal the shot. Every time I see a clip like that I feel more than a tad uncomfortable. Is it machismo or just honesty? To me the hunt is about so much more...

You must have been in Alberta where it is legal. Not legal in British Columbia and definitely not tolerated. He wouldn't get past the first RCMP. That's why you see the boat on top of the truck in BC and the ATV inside the back of the toy hauler travel trailer.

Yup, I used to hunt with a guy who claimed every duck shot as his. Two things... he shoots at everything and rushes every shot. Once I made the decision to stop hunting with him I was amazed at the number of great hunts I had. Ducks got closer and the bag was plentiful. I never looked back...
