saw this one along the road and yes, I do believe that is a porta-bote (or similar) in the boat with a kayak.

Part of the reason I bought a 12' v bottom this year. I'd be over the road length limit with my current rig. The 12' puts me under the max length by a few feet. Of course I'm still not sure I'm legal in Illinois. Triple tow states only with a fifth-wheel combination and I have a travel trailer similar to the one in the picture. I've been told by RV sales guy I'm fine. I've yet to test that theory.

I didn't know it was legal anywhere... I've seen it mostly in the upper midwest, this was in British Columbia or Alberta. I've read discussions with people on both sides of it being legal, but I'd always felt the evidence was against it being legal, just don't know. Either way, get a video of backing up the first time you drive! :) I'm nervous with a short trailer that I'll accidentally bury myself somewhere I can't extract myself - I've almost done it a couple times as it is.

I've seen similar triple-rigs in my travels down here.
Not sure of the legality but I am extremely sure of the impossibility of me ever backing a triple rig!

You won't see me do it either. I'd unhook the third, park the camper then deal with the boat.

Looks like a "Mayhem", or Farmers Insurance commercial waiting to happen.[;)]

Good Sam Camping.com is a great resource.

Don't believe I've ever seen anyone back up a triple including me. I have a neighbor that travels to RC flyin's. He pulls a 14' t5railer behind a fifth wheel. He unhooks the trailer then parks the camper I will do the same thing.

Looking at the table you linked (thanks, btw, that is a good breakdown) I can see the states it is legal line up well with where I see triples. I?m not in any way opposed for someone other than me towing like that, it scares me too much. If you knew where you were headed, knew where you planned to get gas and knew it would work out, it would be fine I?m sure. I just know how we travel requires a little more flexibility once in a while.

And that is where truck campers are great.

But where does the side by side with bike rack go ????? :).

We saw a lot of guys with the boat racks that put a 12-14 footer on the top of the truck. Seem very popular with guys from British Columbia.

You must have been in Alberta where it is legal. Not legal in British Columbia and definitely not tolerated. He wouldn't get past the first RCMP.

That's why you see the boat on top of the truck in BC and the ATV inside the back of the toy hauler travel trailer.

Checking the Date and Time it was BC and far from Alberta (my bad to not look it up in the first place), it was between Laird Hot Springs and Muncho Lake. We thought it might be broken down on the side of the road, but in looking at the photo Jen snapped in full resolution the camper is leveled on blocks - it parked along the road side.

This is the one I'd like to have.

Seeing Paul's legality comments, that makes sense. They look like cool setups to have.

I like the one's that come off the front of the truck. It places the boat above the front hood and cab. You can then unload the boat with a trailer still attached.

I just double checked the BC legislation and it is still unlawful to tow more than one trailer behind a vehicle. This includes a fifth wheel. It makes me wonder if that vehicle was going north or south and what plates were on it. I could see it reaching Liard River from the north without being stopped but it is hard to imagine getting that far from the south.

Northbound camping on the side of the road (leveled with steps down). I'm 95% on the ID of the of the plate from the photo is BC (and I'm pretty good on license plates after playing the license plate game for 12K miles this summer).
