This Season's Project.. 1928 Benjamin Hallock Gunning Scooter

Is it a Glass Boat Works Hull ? Smart move with the dodger up front and I also see you,ve got the strips down side to break splash from coming into stern. I ran an 18' for several years. Great little hulls , rarely see them now as most have gone to Carolina Skiffs in that style hull.

    Sanford Gunning Box?

Many years ago I built one from a 12' aluminum jon that had stern crushed. Cut out stern and replaced with 3/4" sign board. Seats removed and cut down to 8' length from bow. Boat was originally a 36" bottomed jon. Built ribs with a 3" arc for cockpit from 3/4" Sign board and decked with 1/4" fir...

    A300 Cabela's Black Friday Sale

Just beware you,ll not get the drop at comb with a A300 that you get with your humpback A5. May or may not matter to you but will effect the way you shoot it. The A300 platform is good, i,ve got one in 20 gauge, that shoots great for me now after buttstock mods to get D.A.C.

    Boat blind ideas?

Think your going to find running boat with walls dropped down like that is going to come back to haunt you. Probably going to be constantly wet when you flip them up for use. Look's neat though way you've formed to hull lines but for actual use I would have left uprights basically straight and...

    Atlantic Brant hunt

Years ago we use to shoot them when waterfowl hunting behind Assateague Island, Md. Tried cooking them a couple times after breasting and not a fan. Froze one for an upcoming taxidermy class I was taking late winter. Unbelievable the smell when I opened that birds up come class time. Stunk to...

Picked up a well used 1436 Lowe jon over the weekend and spend all monday and yesterday un bubbaing it from previous owner. Had a stiff N.W. wind blowing all day yesterday and about 40 air temp. Reminded me of my working outside all day to earn a buck younger days! Installed aluminum floor...

    Boat blind ideas?

Check out their blind mounting tutorial on utube and it will give you some good ideas for frame and mounting design. One thing they do that I don,t do is attach bottom of blind covering to boat. I,ve found a lenght of scd. 40 1" conduit attached to bottom of wall covering the length of wall...

Marsh Stake for Staking out Boat during Tide Change

Need a quick spud pole? 3/4" EMT Electrical conduit cut to what ever length you desire. I keep a couple at 8' in my 2072 for staking off when boat blinds set up. We,re cursed with very soft river bottom mud in river I hunt. On bottom end flatten in a vise last 2" . Cut on an angle for easier...

    BBSB Pond Box Build

You could always take along a sled similar to the Beavertail and put dog in that in a dog blind to one side The larger sleds will easily hold a dog plus dog blind and easily towable behind your pond bx if required. Or build the dog his own little boat!

    BBSB Pond Box Build

As far as dog in boat build your dodger so dog can lay on deck behind you. Safest for both him and you. Or if you,ve leg room position dog behind you in cockpit. Would require a rod from side to side of combing inside for your back rest to lay against. Would probably require dodger to have 2...
