“Doc & The Rube-Perfect Together” by Bob Keeney Jr

Bob, that is great info and I have also gunned quite a bit in that area. Almost all of the names are familiar, and the history on Doc Cramer is something I knew nothing about. The boat is magnificent, and I too like the red paint. It's one of the real deals as far as Barnegat Bay sneakboxes go...

    NDR - Shingles

My sister had shingles erupt right next to her eye about a year ago and smartly got medical attention immediately like you did and it cleared up quickly, and thank God for that. My father had shingles many years ago and it was very painful and was before the shingrix vaccine. He had the previous...

    NDR: Cleaning Fish

A geo-magnetic event likely caused this making the knife appear to be cutting at one angle while actually cutting at another. It is related to the shift in magnetic north and is not related to your skill as a cutter of fish, nor is it related to your age.

TAIGA BEAN GOOSE - Who knew there were two?

I never heard anybody ever talk about a bean goose other than in Heilner's Duck Shooting. Nice find and great photo's.

    Winter is here. Who’s hunting?

That's music to my ears. No yellow perch to speak of here in south Jersey, but they were the mainstay in my youth ice fishing in north Jersey. Nice mess of fish Carl. I prefer eating panfish to pretty much everything else. I ended the day with the aforementioned field hunt. Only 2 blacks, 1...

    Winter is here. Who’s hunting?

Got one more outing in store for tomorrow, will remember to take a few pics and post them. Weather is much milder tomorrow (mid 40's day) than it has been, but just a short respite until the cold weather starts back on Sunday. Supposed to see a little rain mid-day with a fair breeze which might...

Well that didn't go like it was supposed to... motor trouble question?!?!?!?!

Where are you at in NJ Jay? I'm outside of Philly, and there may some real gas over on the dark side(greater philly), but I've typically seen it in the more rural areas. But since Todd posted that site since I started my reply..............And that is a great tool and all you need. I don't...

Well that didn't go like it was supposed to... motor trouble question?!?!?!?!

I think Tohatsu's are very good motors and would buy one, but have not owned one myself. There are a lot more Tohatsu's out there than the labels on the motors read. They always made commercial grade motors, you would have to look around to make sure that is still the case.

NDR...Icefishing for Walter with Mr. Bill and Calamity Bob

What a cool rig, never seen anything like it. I'm, also happy to hear that someone keeps the tradition of Mr. Bill alive.

    65 y/o pheasant hunter dies

This is a great thread as far as preparedness on outings like this. Vince knows I have a big bird hunting trip coming up next fall, and there is a great list of items that need to be with us when we are from civilization.

    Sneakbox?

That is the real deal. If it is a planked boat and I had some carpentry skills, it would be one I wanted to restore. As Steve noted, the hull is the give-away.

    Winter is here. Who’s hunting?

Unfortunately I have no pictures to share. But I did have a great outing with friends on Saturday in south Jersey. We hunted a friends field that also has a pond and an impoundment, and set up with our backs to the wind on the edge of a pond(that had an ice eater to keep it open) with the field...

Towing cross country on small trailer tires...

All I can say is good luck on your trips and I hope you don't have to use any of the tools being discussed on the roadside this winter!

    Hybrid or band

Thanks William-I'm now clued in! Seeing as we get both of those ducks out east, that would be a possibility, but the only hybrid ducks we ever shoot are black/mallard, of which one was shot today.

    Hybrid or band

Well, been duck hunting 48 years and never heard of a brewer, maybe we don't have whatever they are out east. Bu clue me in.

    Hunting the weather

Our Delaware Bay tidal marshes are frozen up pretty good now, so that is a no go for now, but I do have an invite for a Saturday field hunt, so that should be good. Don Novicki, glad to hear you are OK and hoping for your speedy recovery and good health going forward.

    Winter is here. Who’s hunting?

Anthony, those are some great photos. I have not been able to hunt that much this year, but when out in south Jersey there have been more ducks than in the last several years. Many more black ducks also.
