Mike-the Susquehanna River is also a place that has scull boats like your yours, as does the tidal Delaware near me. There are still a few people around that do it. And there are a few people on Duckboats that do also. They have all probably been out hunting, tis' the season in these parts.

I think you are seeing some legalese from one of them and not the other. The last sentence is the most important, which is why it is placed there.

That is a nice bonus bird for northern states. We rarely see blue-wings in Jersey during the season, the first part of which starts 3rd week of October. If you go out in the marshes in September you sometimes see them before they move on. I don't think we see a lot this far east as a rule.

I don't have anything specific to offer other than you have plenty of time for that dog to adjust to you and it's new life. Don't be in a hurry and try and force it because it will come in due time with kindness and encouragement.

I too did some ice fishing in north Jersey when I was a teenager. We caught beautiful yellow perch that averaged 10"s, and sometimes larger. But here in south Jersey, we rarely get the hard freeze you need to get good ice. Nothing beats panfish for eating.
