I'd take him to the gun club if i could get him into the car... If i TRY TO DO SO, HE HITS THE BRAKES AND won't budge... i HAVE TO PICK HIM UP AND PUT HIM IN THE CAR.

Once he is in, he will not eat any snacks or anything until he is let out again. He doesn't like being in the car apparently.

When young when training my pups to jump up into trk. bed to enter dog bx. if they're reluctant I've just used chunks of hot dog to entice them . Let them smell it then place in location you want them to go. I use load command at same time. You may be able to adapt that to your situation.

This is the trick! Food is your training partner with little guys. Entice with food, reinforce with positive words and petting when you get the result you want.

I don't have anything specific to offer other than you have plenty of time for that dog to adjust to you and it's new life. Don't be in a hurry and try and force it because it will come in due time with kindness and encouragement.
