I have never shot a mature drake bluewing during the regular season in the areas I hunt. Shot a bunch in Mexico but never in the North Mississippi Delta especially this late in the season. Another taxidermy invoice.....

All other aspects of the duck were pure mallard. Cleaned him and he appeared healthy. Might have expected parasites but none were found. I have cleaned a few this year with "rice breast" but not this one.

Shot this Mallard last weekend with a blue bill. Biologist friend suggested a vitamin or mineral deficiency. Your thoughts?

Sausage Balls (old Bisquick recipe). Wrap portions in foil and throw them on a heater for 20 minutes or so. You can make large batches and cook them at home. Wrap in foil and freeze until needed.

BTW I believe the Coot Decoy heads were carved on a replicator due to their exact uniformity and the tool marks. I can't recall the details of the company but I believe they were only in business a short time.

No I bought these over 20 years ago. 6 are from Coot Decoy company and one is a balsa bird but I can't recall the maker. I do wish I could learn your technique of painting fine lines on the heads. I tried numerous brushes just can't seem to get the hang of it. But like you mentioned half a gun...
