    Need some tire/rim education please

So, another question that I'm sure you have evaluated - what's your feeling on the stiffer sidewall on an ST vs LT to lesson the potential for sway? Is it important?

    Need some tire/rim education please

I have seen the reports of trailer tire failures and until your post didn't consider the LTs as a viable replacement. - I will now. My trailer is 2 1/2 years old and has about 12-13,000 miles on these tires. I'll file this discussion in my memory bank for future use. Thanks.

Yes, I think you're reading that right. This is new to me so I'm learning also.

    Need some tire/rim education please

That's interesting Tod. I hadn't heard that before about st vs lt tires for trailers. I appreciate your knowledge and experience on the subject, but it really goes against what I'm seeing from other sources like https://m.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=219 Not doubting your...

The Background of Bass Pro's Buyout of Cabelas: You all probably knew this; I didn't

Yes Larry it's sad and, unfortunately, happens a lot.

    Need some tire/rim education please

Dani, When you jack up the trailer, grab each tire and try to wiggle it side to side. If a tire is loose the bearing may be shot and need to be replaced.

Will Lou Tishs FME work well for painting a PolyPro Kayak

Probably best to call Lou and discuss it with him. I suspect he knows the answer.

    Boat Paint

I've used a variety of duck boat paints over the years including Parkers. The finest, toughest, and longest lasting is FME (flat marine enamel) from Lou Tisch at Lock, Stock and Barrel - also a member here. http://www.lockstockbarrell.com/

So today I bought yet another duck boat

Congrats on the new boat Ed. I'm using my first kayak, bought in July, 3 times a week here in Texas - I turned 70 last May. Do a google search for 'Lake Poygan Gunning Box'. Lots of pics available.

    Crabbers Gloves??

Jay, The 495s have removable liners as do the 465s. I can't tell you the difference in the two models - never owned the 465s

    Crabbers Gloves??

Ditto - Atlas 495's. I've had mine for at least 15 years. I have extra liners but rarely use them. Pull the liners, turn gloves inside out and they'll be dry in the morning. Most people I hunt with eventually wear 495's, either gifts from me or buy their own.

    New boat build

That's quite a beast, is a 29 hp SD going to be enough? Any idea of draft? I know how you attack a project - probably be ready for a test run before ice out. [cool]

    New boat build

This surprises no one who knows you Phil - you've been too quiet lately [cool] Figured you were up to something LOL. That's a pretty good sized boat. Estimated weight? Hull thickness? Estimated motor HP?
