    Waders

I'm on yr 2 or 3 on my Cabelas cheapo breathables and they have holes here and there. I'm sick of getting wet. One problem I have with waders is the short inseam which tends to trip me up and limit my mobility. I'm just shy of 6'5" and wear a 34" inseam on most pants. Does anyone make...

Last night's rocket launch-clearly not duck related

I did, but didn't catch enough to be in the running. Caught a few reds at tangier and no specks. I ended up trailering up north on Sunday and gave it a go in the honga until I gave up and finished the night catching blues and spanish off of Kent Island. the blues just came off the smoker...

sculling makes a man of you

It takes a special kind of person to love sculling. Be safe and have a blast. There's nothing better than waking geese up with the bow of the boat and having to let them get out of range. these brant didn't let us get too close....but then again, maybe they did!! And yes, get a heavier bow...

Last night's rocket launch-clearly not duck related

I was in Crisfield, MD friday night, but missed a chance to sit about 2 miles from the launch site. It was amazing how bright the horizon got when it first fired off, and how fast it got out of sight. -D

    September Workbench

Green Heron out of basswood w/ a mahogany bill. It's hollow and has 2 pennies in it. Guess that will guarantee it's worth something. When the plastic wood cures I'll get back to sanding. I also have 2 more pickleweeds on the bench. a FWD and a Pintail. Great work all. -D

    Looking for Balsa Wood

If you can't find the balsa thickness you want you might want to add a cedar or pine bottom board. It will strengthen the edges of the decoy and make it bottom heavy which will make it self right like a champ. No matter where you get the balsa it will most likely be pieces that are laminated...

Really short deer season this year.

That sounds like about as safe as you can get for shooting a Griz with a bow. I talked to Tred Barta about his longbow kill at something like 13yards. His camera man said it was about as big of a rush as you can imagine. Another friend of mine filmed a top 5 Kodiak kill last season that...

Really short deer season this year.

That is too cool! What a unique rack. What kind of rifle? Was it walking straight away? Head shots always make the tracking job quite easy don't they? Thanks for sharing the pictures and story, I'm sure he'll be great eating with all of that good food he was surrounded by. I shot a...

Transducer question on a Bankes Crusader

It made me very nervous, but I finally grabbed my holesaw bit, and started in the bilge and drilled down through the hull of my goliath, then finished the hole by drilling from the bottom up. I then took a router and routed out the balsa core which was in the hull and filled the routed out...

Not all styles will lift more as the setback increases. It's definitely worth the price for a hydraulic unit vs. mechanical. -D

    Would this be legal?

Not sure why my original post didn't show up, but I'd say you could get in trouble for rallying game or disturbing waterfowl at rest rather quickly. It'd be one thing if you were just out filming, but another if you include hunting in the mix. Most of the quad copters have a relatively low...

4" powered jack plate and 18' Lund Alaskan

I have a 6" CMC Jackplate on my Bankes goliath. It is the most important accessory on the boat. It allows me to run shallow, and float shallow, and I never have to trim up my motor when trailering b/c of it. A jackplate will set your motor back a little further which will change the...
