Was spectacular. Our hunting shack is 80 nautical miles from Wallops Island, and it took about 20-30 seconds for it to come above the horizon after lift off. Two stages could be seen separating. We went out to a boat launch that is a couple of miles out in the meadow to watch, it was really great.

We watched from the south shore of LI. The second stage was already going when it came over the horzon then we saw the third stage fire. I was shocked we were able to see it so well.

You lucky guy! That had to be a fantastic sight.

Sounds cool John, I wasnt able to make it down there. That rocket is actually a recycled nuclear ICBM.

Wow what a sight that must of been! I went to the Houston space center several years ago and was amazed at the size of some of the rockets used in past missions. Can't imagine the force that must be needed to hurl them into space!

I was in Crisfield, MD friday night, but missed a chance to sit about 2 miles from the launch site. It was amazing how bright the horizon got when it first fired off, and how fast it got out of sight.

I did, but didn't catch enough to be in the running. Caught a few reds at tangier and no specks. I ended up trailering up north on Sunday and gave it a go in the honga until I gave up and finished the night catching blues and spanish off of Kent Island.

the blues just came off the smoker and are finger lickin good.
