    Not dad's foamers

No pulsators needed when you have this kind of movement. The few that were around and saw them did it dirty. Some just a wee to close. Unfortunately, just not enough birds around this year to really put these through the tests I was hoping for. Long off season to improve even more, ill be back...

Which gas stabilizer do yall use

Duck boat, just drain it and start fresh every year. Pump the gas out of the 9 gallon tank and put it in mower. I have one of those battery powered gas pumps from harbor freight and it works really well. New stuff goes in when I do my yearly fall maintenance, prime and go. Bass boat, I use...

    Surface Drive vs Mud Motor

I have run a ton of surface drives over the years. First one was 18 hp, second was a 40 efi, and my current one is a 55efi. The higher the power you go, the more surface the prop runs. With my current set up, my prop likes to be ~ 1/3 out of the water to be running at its fastest and easiest to...

    All Things Flocking

They do decorative working calls custom carved to look like ducks. NWTF has a specific competition for that every year. Not necessarily a decoy per se, but working calls carved like ducks or decorative. Some of it is insane workmanship. The price they go for is insane as well. I think NWTF show...

    All Things Flocking

It would need to be gusts of 40 to get it to work cuz i aint running a tube to it. Imagine a little pond water getting in the tube, sucking that up. Sounds like Giardia haven and you would live on the toilet for weeks!

    All Things Flocking

Williams brain isnt going anywhere near that idea! I will say the open mouth, upright hen with a slight turn in the head, close to the bank where im calling has sure helped a bunch. Never call ducks when they are right over, but it seems to make them just a touch less weary when they look down...

    All Things Flocking

Im going to attempt a gadwall. There are tricks for the gadwall, gonna have to get good with paint pens if you want a good gadwall chest.... so I hear. Great post above by Don. Pintail are surprisingly more easy than I expected. Im going to make quite a few more pintail for myself as well.

    All Things Flocking

Ive often through about making a panel blind out of cow decoys. Never thought to flock it. But in some places, I would think you could walk right up on the geese if you had the right decoy and the slowest of walks towards them. Within 30 yards, no problem.

Day dreaming - handle inside waders?

I just step into mine. I couldnt imagine trying to put them on sitting down. Many moons ago, I was in a fire academy and was almost a firefighter before I became a nurse. Half way through I blew up my knee and had to drop out of the academy to get it repaired. Getting into my waders reminds me...

Day dreaming - handle inside waders?

I’m really not sure why they post $99. I’ve always got mine for $40. Everytime I buy a case of ammo, I just add a bag to the order because I like them so much lol. I agree tho, for $99, I wouldn’t buy this bag. For $40, it’s a no brainer.

Day dreaming - handle inside waders?

I put my waders in a wader bag. Rogers has a real nice one. My sitkas go in the bag nicely, and it makes handling them real easy when not in use. I too fold down the waders over the boot. The real reason I got this bag is to keep mud and grime down from the floor boards of the truck. I like...

    December Workbench

There’s a young lad I know who is getting interested in guns. Never had a real father figure growing up, always asking questions. I decided he was going to build an ar-15, with my guidance. I wanted him to appreciate the idea that firearms are just tools. Reiterated multiple times that the...

What aluminum hulls have good reputations right now?

Ive been in sea arks and they are very well built. Sorry I missed the "Center console" sub note in the original post. I use mine on big waters into little river systems. So its a tiller all day for me. Honest to god, theres only 1 or 2 holes I really need a mudmotor to get into and the only...

What aluminum hulls have good reputations right now?

Nate, I went down a major rabbit hole with aluminum boats, when I finally pulled the trigger on a havoc. I called all these companies and even lots of the custom guys. If you want a true flat bottom, they have to have "x" amount of foam in them to meet coast guard approval. I hated that idea...

Feels so good to be back…..

Got an hour in before I had to get home for cooking duties. Should have just pulled the trigger, but I was hoping to get my 5 green. Could have taken home some GWT but they were more fun to watch vs pull the trigger on. Bacon wrapped, cream cheese filled, back straps on the traeger.
