You might want to do a multistage pour. Do the sand first and let that cure since it will absorb the epoxy, then the colors and top off with a clear pour. There are table pour videos where they make faux waves in the pour.

If it is a Scaup it should be added can the photos be added to duckboats database since the plans are onsite.

What about electrical conduit tubing. You could use a conduit bender to form the bends.

Steve, The widgeon plans have the folding oarlocks using 1” stock. I was thinking of reinforcing as well. What source do you use for bronze or brass rod? On a folding oarlock does the 5/8” dowel in the oarlock remain fixed or is the dowel fixed in the mounts? If it rotates in the oarlock...

Is there a preferred wood grain orientation for oar locks. I am building mine out of near quartersawn white oak. Is the grain better parallel to the boat or vertical. A hairline crack in the oarlock has me wondering.
