Sunday afternoon cleared with light winds and flat waters. Boat successfully launched with no leaks observed. A few items remain like the spray shield but the boat is usable at this point.

Ok, the way I saw it done was placing a spring clamp on the board at the deck line. It would accomplish similar. Rick

SJ. You could do that but the scimitar shape is to move the center of effort to the rear of the boat so you get a balanced helm. (at least that is what I have read) If the daggerboard were straight you could do add the pins. Rick Lathrop

Thank you for posting, I checked and Google Maps shows a house at each of the Van Duyne and Perrine addresses. It looks like Van Duyne and Perrine built boats in the backyard.

Jode, I have a planing hull sneakbox that someone did the same tapering of planks. I have done similar when cross planking the bottom of a garvey to tighten the bottom planking. Rick

Steve, Unfortunately you can’t adjust the depth on the scimitar board. I was going to use a spring clamp to hold board up when not in use. Guy I knew with a 12’ melonseed did same and it worked. Rick
