    Glen-L Sneakboat vs Devlin Broadbill

What I need is a bigger truck. Our current model is a Ram 1500 Ecodiesel. The lure of good milage wears off quickly when you realize your shortbox bed is virtually worthless and it's not rated to tow anything substantial. RM

    Glen-L Sneakboat vs Devlin Broadbill

Richard, That is kind of what I was afraid of. Initially I assumed it was stitch and glue but then I noticed that the material list specified 1/4" ply so I thought maybe ply on frame. Of course I would not put a rudder or dagger board nor sail on so much of the frame work would be eliminated...

    Glen-L Sneakboat vs Devlin Broadbill

Opinions please on the Glen-L sneakbox vs. the Devlin Broadbill. Apparently Glen-L adapted the Barnegat Bay sneak box to stitch and glue so it's not a traditional shallow arch hull. I am familiar with Devlin's plans for the Broadbill as I have a set but have not heard much about the Glen-L...

12 slot decoy bag for magnums and long lines

Dave, I like the idea of gunnel bags for decoys after seeing them on Diane's website. Definitely worthy of consideration. RM

Are zippered lids a good idea or do they get in the way? RM

12 slot decoy bag for magnums and long lines

A question on slot size...my first two bags I purchased from Diane were life-size with 6x6 slots. Fits every decoy I own including the battleship size ringneck decoys but it is a snug fit with decoys protruding above top of bag. I guess my question is whether a larger size Diane bag with 7x7"...

    Need help finding one

Looks like a box store version of a Siglin Pulk sled. These sleds are made of UHMW and are super durable but expensive. If you are handy and friends with a press brake brake operator it is easy to make your own. RM Siglin Pulk - SkiPulk https://share.google/35TVlG5VOhJlJ89Ub

    16 gauge reload recipes?

    D. Hinton, Another option, far less expensive in the long run, is to simply rechamber your shotgun to 2 3/4" shells. Any competent gunsmith can perform this and there are many low pressure shells available for older guns. B&P comes to mind in 16 gauge. RM

What aluminum hulls have good reputations right now?

You are looking for a mod v jon boat; my bad. Check out Lowe Roughneck. I owned an 18 ft side console but longed for a tiller. Wish I would have kept it but the wife wanted a smoother ride so we traded for an Alumacraft deep v tiller. RM

Alumacraft is a solid boat. Never an issue. RM

Who Hunts With A Black Powder Shotgun?

Fred, I really enjoy muzzleloader hunting for deer but have never given much thought to winged quarry. Of course I am a bit spoiled with sabots and such. Definitely makes a person appreciate the advances in shotshell technology. I normally buy a case of whatever is on sale because I reason that...

    2025 Devlin Snow Goose Thread

Henry, You won't believe how much the floor, when epoxied in, stiffens the hull. Glad you went the extra mile. Merry Christmas! RM

What new waders are you guys using?

Ditto on High'nDry! Only wader I have ever owned that didn't leak after two years. Primarily used for cleaning weeds out of our landing and but also for duck hunting. RM

    Drones

Mark my words, it is only a matter of time before the DNR surveils hunters using drones. RM

    Drones

I would not be against drones if they were only used for the purposes stated thus far. My thought is the more that you put into something the more you get out so if you are using a drone to scout game, it is your loss not mine. The issue that pisses most people off is using drones to invade...

Late Season Upland Montana advice needed

Dave, What, if any, snowfall accumulation? Here in MN our upland hunting was cut short by alot of snow. Alot of it melted this week but what is left is hard crusted snow pack. Good luck on your trip and let me know of your experience. My wife and I have been planning a similar trip to Montana...

Who Hunts With A Black Powder Shotgun?

Given the lower velocity of black powder, perhaps bismuth shot is a better choice thereby eliminating the need for plastic protective shotcup. RM

    Limit of mallards in Huntsville

Years ago my wife and I visited Kauai Island, Hawaii. The island is overrun with chickens and the whole time I am thinking how tasty they would be, free range and all. One day I got to talking with a local and asked why nobody was eating them. The lady I asked got quite offended and said, "We...
