    WTB old 16 gauge shells

Chris, have a few boxes, paper shells, and found they can be shipped UPS. Question I had was when did US companies stop making 2 9/16" shells? Have a couple marked 16ga 2 9/16" Magnum. You'd mentioned wanting something from the 20's...just can't be sure mine are that old. Someone out there...

    Bean decoys... 2 part Question

well, that looks like a Soule era head...I've epoxied (sp?) the butts back on a few birds, held with long nails, broken just like your photo...decoys have held up ok after sealing.

    Bean decoys... 2 part Question

Post photos of the heads, members could tell you right away. Soule birds back in the 50s, 60s, 70s, had pinned dowels through the head and keel. "Snakey heads" would be a clue, as is the quality of pressed cork (few voids). In earlier days, George sealed the birds with shoe glue, then just the...

    Cork decoy repair?

am guessing you refer to "black" or "pressed cork" birds? Binding of cork bits (unlike white cork) can be inconsistent - less a defect, more to do with grade of pressed cork. You'll see some with big voids, other companies (used to) use higher grade cork, few voids (like Soule era LLBean, Bill...

    Alumacraft Ducker Serial #?

thanks for the suggestion, checked it out this morning, no luck...will keep looking. Stamped right into the boat, or on a plate like the "Alumacraft" logo riveted in?

    Alumacraft Ducker Serial #?

Hank gave me info as to where his Ducker's # is...no luck on this boat. Perhaps different years had them in different places? Have looked all over my Ducker, can't find a number anywhere...what am I missing? Former owner is 85 years old, wasn't any help. Alumacraft label on one end is in good...

    CWA Fun Decoy Day Gathering...

To All, thanks for a friendly, informative day...saw Scott's aluminum BBS, very solid and more room than I'd thought; Decoy "competition" was in good spirit, a nice welcome from all club and CWA members. Was nice to get a bit of insight from Rich Chmiel on his blackduck rig I've used for 10...

CT Waterfowler's Decoy Fun Day August 28th

Are directions, from north, 395 South to Route 2 West, then Exit 22, followed by a couple turns to the club - is it that simple? Google map has a couple .3 mile Easts and Wests mixed in there 'round Norwich? Bringing rain gear, that's what everybody says...

    Who's Guilty?

Had four slices of pizza on a stool by computer, got up to answer a phone, and walked around while talking...return to find two slices on plate, and flat coat retriever Maggie laying by the stool, just the end of her tail wagging...hmmm. Smart dog, or not enough time to finish off the plate?
