I'm going with the air leak theory. Fuel lines are inexpensive to replace, and should be with some regularity - at least every five years or so. Nothing worse on a cold, freezing day than having a fuel line break. On the off chance replacement does not do the trick, try squeezing your fuel...

Just for kicks, checked a couple online gun sales/auction sites - found one with starting bid of $595 - off the scale/"waiting for the right buyer", duh - but it makes that price you're talkin' about shine a bit brighter yet!

If you need a good bird gun, $250 is a helluvadeal. Check the couch for loose change first...any decent excuse for another shotgun, eh?

If it was OMC, I'd say the fuel pump needs to be replaced, or at least rebuilt. Not familiar w/25hp Mercs though - is there an accessible fuel pump on them?

20 miles south of Leech - low water, like a foot low, made in and out of the slough a real push. Lots of birds though...mallards, ringbills, few wood ducks, no teal.
