    Maxwell's House Complete

Just finished up the Addition to the duckblind...Maxwell's House. It will be installed tomorrow morning and hunted from on Friday. I have some repairs to do on the blind already. I went down to check on it today after that little blow we had and it's laying on its back already. I knew I...

Woohooo! I finally finished some projects.

I started this decoy shelf months ago and it has sat in my trailer until yesterday while the decoys adorned my gun safe. The top shelf is basswood and everything else is cedar...appropriate for a decoy shelf right? http://www.northbaycalls.com/images/Misc/photo%202%20(3).jpg I also...

    And so it begins

Good luck Dani...We're a month into out season and I'm still trying to figure out where to go for birds. I did see some rafted up today though. I may have to take the sneakboat out on Monday and see what happens. Have a great season!

More climbing from the wilds of Vermont

Since everybody enjoys these write ups here's my latest from Vermont... Well, this trip was not all it was cracked up to be. We fell way short on the plans and only managed to hit Camels Hump and Mt. Mansfield. The New Hampshire 48 are going to have to wait for another day. We summited...

    binocular reviews

I'm partial to my Steiner Predators...I want to say 10 x 50 but I'd have to double check that. They have the auto focus as well, and have taken a real beating over the years. I'd buy them again. Steve

    Old School Throwback...

I haven't made one of these in years. Some guys talked me into bringing back a few of the old calls I used to make. A box of old barrels was found and curiousity took over I guess. Anyway, here's the newly redesigned North Bay Eclipse Timber style duck call with plenty of rasp as requested by...

Where's the November "What's on your Workbench"?

Ken...Without doing it illegally or with a pile of store bought goods there is no brushing on this blind. A can of spray paint to give it some depth is about it. The place these blinds are set up does not allow the use of standing vegetation for brushing in, only driftwood type stuff. And you...

    Duck call inserts?

My favored inserts to use are the ones I make myself. However, if you're looking for more of a mass produced insert from another manufacturer you can't go wrong with Echo's inserts. Enjoy!

Where's the November "What's on your Workbench"?

That's a beauty of a ruddy Steve... Here’s my contribution…new duck blind build for the season. I had to break down and build another since we my buddy had a pick on Presque Isle too. I made this one entirely from cedar with exception of the seat. I figured we could “ride the pine” if there...

    Erie Art Museum Decoy display...

Just caught this in the paper this morning. The Erie Art Museum currently has some old decoys from the early to late 20th century on display...including some Buchner's and Sweet's. I'm going to try and get down there tomorrow to check it out. Here's a link to anybody in Erie, Ohio or New York...

    Meanwhile in Alberta...

No more pups for us just yet Paul, as much as I would like to get one. Maxx is only four, actually his birthday is on Monday (Halloween). Maybe that explains why he acts the way he does sometimes. Anyway, our other dog is getting up there, she's more of a house cat than a dog. Never hunted...
