    Wood duck finished!

The stripes will come later. I have to let this guy dry for a few days first. The primaries are a bit washed out in the pic. Thanks for the tips George. I will give this guy a few washes of raw umber until I'm happy.................................Kevin

    Wood duck finished!

I finished this guy up today. There is a lot of color blending on the back and tail that did'nt show up in the pics. This was a pain in the neck to paint but I'm happy with the outcome. Next will be a mate for this guy............................Kevin [inline IMG_1460.JPG] [inline...

April what's on you workbench? No fooling

Really nice stuff Tom. Here is a woodie with a few thin coats of primer. The last one I did in this head position was a "you know what" to paint under the chin and neck. Any tips on how to get this done?

Thanks for the compliments everyone! Charlie, You'll do just fine. Try and pick a general style and emulate that. You know that Jodie Hllman got me started last year. I need to make time for another visit for more pointers. I also speak on the regular with Lenny Maiorano of Rutherford. He...

Thank's Dave......... Gene, I too am overly critical. Especially for gunners. I'm sure that I will enjoy seeing them on the water but I have to say that I have not yet made and painted a decoy that I am really happy with yet. There just seems to be too many greats out there and I can't help...
