    could very well be, I have noticed here that mid way thru the season they become a little land and boat shy. everywhere they go someone is shooting at them. after a lot of pressure they will not decoy at all to a boat or land.

    I have found that old squaw decoy well to old squaw decoys you get a lot of fly bye's with any type,they will always skirt the outside, but to get them to commit feet down, you have to have some of them out. with 20-25 oldsquaw decoys and a layout you can really have some fun.

    any good dry tight grain wood is good for heads I have a scotor rig in the works now that has oak heads oak is some tough stuff. a lot more durable than cedar when really abused decoys are being used in the big boat so weight isn't much of an issue.

    if you are using west systems at that heat you can use the tropical hardener to give yourself more time to work, will still kick very quick if left in a container with any quantity.

    looks good! do you use this as your outside coat? I have always found that epoxy itself doesn't weather good in the sun. does the graphite help with deterioration on the hull surface? or do you have to recoat with something else
