    The best bet to do the job once is to use aluminum sheet. I purchased the sheet .090 from the local hardware store. They cut to size for a couple extra bucks. Depending on size you can get it done for under $200.

    Our wives think we are crazy. My wife sees no value in paint and grass and camo. I won't fix a hole in a shirt, but I'll spend days sewing canvas. Great handy work on the boat, it ashamed to cover it, but you must.

    mineral or compressor oil will work. The concern is water absorbtion. Motor oil or hydrolic fluid will foam when water is present.
