    That is still used today on a lot of the boats up here in Maine, I all ways mixed it up a Qt. turpentine, boiled Linseed oil,and pinetar and at least a pint of japan drier. If you dont put the Japan drier in it will be stickie for months.

    Got one from cabelas this year for $120 LL Beans has the same thing for $100 (no pump or patch kit) It came with only one strap to hold the canoe to the cart, that did not work out for me, a friend had two small ratchet straps that made the cart Priceless, 16ft canoe, all the gear, one trip...
