    Pennsylvania hunting

Well Pa. has finally broken through one of the last old "blue laws" that was still in place: Sunday Hunting. Governor Shapiro has signed the bill into law and we are now officially allowed to hunt on Sundays. The Game Commission is meeting 7-28 to see if they will put it into effect this season...

    Federal regulations for duck

I've always wondered about something. The federal rules for duck hunting came out in 1918 and prohibited a number of changes and installed an actual season for same. My question is, since they specifically stated that you could not use recorded sounds, what options were there for guys to use...

    Freelance Ontario

The entire world knows about Sask, AB, MB, but has anyone here ever free lanced Ontario? I've thought about it since it's a heck of a lot closer, and I'm sure they have public land, but has anyone hunted private property there and if you did how easy was the access?

Need advice on fiberglass and options

Guys I'm building another open water layout for next season. I have always used Polyester Resin for the fiberglass application, and have always had good results and good adhesion. However when I finished my boat last season I used Z-Poxy finishing resin diluted down to water consistency with...

    65 y/o pheasant hunter dies

I read that a 65 y/o pheasant hunter dies after being shot in the leg. At 10:00 am the call went out for assistance. At 10:12 the helicopter was called. The helicopter was 25 minutes out. At 10:30 the hunter died from his wound. 18 minutes to exsanguinate and he was gone before they could air...

    Lund Snipe

Nice looking Lund Snipe, 1980, on the Minneapolis CL.. To be honest I don't think I've ever seen one before. Nice looking craft. I was tooling around looking for a 1970's SSV-16 with a 25 on it. Plenty of Lunds up north if I ever make it out to NoDak again, I'll have to pick up a boat on the...

    South Dakota waterfowl hunting

Has anyone ever been there to primarily duck hunt (you couldn't go without shooting a few pheasant) and if you did did you have a guide, public or private land, and where about did you actually go? I've only heard of people talking about Webster but I don't know anything about it. How hard was...

    Canoe question

Is there any advantage to having a square stern canoe vs a pointed canoe ? I am looking at Sportspal/Radisson canoes for this upcoming season. Also I've had guys claim that SP uses a heavier gauge aluminum than Radisson. I checked their website and the boats are identical but they made no...

    What's everyone watching

For myself, I'm watching the second season of Tour De France Unchained on Netflix, and I must say it's even better than the first season. The athletes are superhuman to say the least and you get see a lot of up close stuff with them and the team, in addition to seeing the race. One thing I know...

    Who remembers

"The American Sportsman". Not that show from 2006 but the good one on Sunday afternoons back in the 60's. I can confidently say that show started the hunting fire for me, even though I didn't buy my first shotgun until I was 16 in 1970. Thereafter I always felt I was a duck hunter stranded in...

    Hearing Aids

I hate to put this out there, but is there a decent hearing aid out there that doesn't cost thousands? I've tried some of the amplifiers, but the static they make drives me nuts. I did have a Beltone a few years ago but the dam thing worked for about 1.5 years and then crapped out when it was...

    What's your preference

Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate or White Chocolate (which really isn't chocolate). For me it's dark chocolate all the way. Occasionally I'll eat some milk chocolate but it's not my fave. I do like white but usually only have it around Easter time.
