    Snow Geese Spring 2026

New Jersey is talking about numbers being down this year due to Bird Flu. I saw none of the big flocks on fields around Rt 78 that I've seen in years past. I saw one high flying group on their return north migration.

That's a good point. No such thing as "NO TRESPASSING" sign on a tide marsh.

    Duck Hunting Property for Sale

I thought Greg might be familiar with this property. I leased a blind at Meadow View Preserve for a couple of years so I'm a little accustomed to hunting in this area. Here's the link to the listing on Zillow...

    Duck Hunting Property for Sale

I just came across a 340-acre marsh property for sale that boarders the 8000-acre Mad Horse NWA in Salem NJ. Pretty reasonable at $630K. Includes an elevated duck shack in the marsh with a lot of improvements. I've never had great success at Mad Horse. Got lost there once before handheld...

    Charcoal Lab

Thanks for the encouragement and comments. What's the opinion in general on Dog insurance? This pup is prone to skin issues due to the off-color pigment. I've never had insurance in 45 years of dogs but maybe it's time to think about it.

    Charcoal Lab

I've had many Labs: yellows, a chocolate, a few blacks and now a charcoal Lab named Hazel. If registered she will be called a Black Lab because there is no designation for "off" colors like red, white, gray or charcoal. I didn't set out to get an off-color lab, but faith brought us Hazel. She is...

    Who else has a ducker

I've shared in the past how much I enjoy my Ducker. I got it in trade for a rowboat. I used a boat patch stick to seal the leaking rivets. Light the stick and drip it on the leak. It worked great.

    Canadian Duck Hunt

I wish I had an answer on the poor hunting. We were in Houghton Lake area and spoke to other hunters with the same result. Woodcock could just be we missed the migration. Some hunters were talking about the Avian Flue impacting Grouse. We even tried Meemo's Lodge one day with their guide and our...

    Canadian Duck Hunt

I'm back from a two-day Canadian duck hunt combined with four days of Michigan Grouse and Woodcock hunting. Shot limits of Redheads, Cans, Bluebills. Hunting out of 24ft John boat over 200 decoys. The local guide agreed to allow me to hunt my 2-year-old Lad and she did great. It made duck...

    River Queen Pontoon

The wheels are turning and plans are under discussion (in my head). I don't want to share my thoughts until I give it a sanity check with some hunting buddies. But stay tuned because it could be considered something brilliant.....or really dumb. My budget is $300 per man and I have 3 more crazy...
