Question for the canoe paddling brothers or sisters

Ed, don't know what style of canoe you have but for my Clipper Prospector (2 seats), I paddle it in reverse, kneeling with my butt on the seat and knees on these type of pads glued to boat. It puts you closer to midships. You might check out NRS or some other whitewater canoeing outfit. They...

    Hearing protection for kids

I would probably go with Howard Leight. They use AAA batteries and they are adjustable. I use them, so the kids can grow into them. I tried Pro Ear Revo for my kids, which used four 1.5v batteries. The Pro Ears may have changed now, but the 1.5v batteries are not easy to get or cheap. They are...

    long distance retriever play...

Tod, I have the same issue. Started with the Chuck-it and a Tonka chew ball. but with snow and tennis elbow I went with the dummy. After reading you post was thinking. I have two posts I could attach a 2x4 to. How about a water balloon slingshot for launching the dummy? I have had so...

How to get my boat on the water

I might build a portable roller ramp. You may not need it to be so robust if the distance is short enough. I'd use the winch on the trailer...

    Found shells

Worth, yes, 2 3/4 steel shells were a little difficult to come by in my area even prior to Covid. Bi-Mart use to be my go to place when they had their fall sales on Kent shells, but I haven't seen a box of shotgun shells on their shelves for over a year. One of the reasons I moved to a 3" Rem...

    Truck Tire thoughts

Dani, this November I replaced the tires on my equestrian mover, duckboat puller, daily driver 2004 Dodge 3500. I looked at many of the tires mentioned already. It ended up a coin flip for me between the new Toyo ATIII and the Falken Wildpeak AT3W. I went with the Toyos on the advice one of the...

    Dove question?

A fine looking bird. I wish I had looked closer at the "bull" dove I harvested the other day, but I think it had a similar blue tint. I guess I will have to get out and collect a few more specimens from WA state for comparison. Right now my spot is all smoked out with fires though.
