This was Molly's second season and we had a lot of fun. Thought I'd share some pictures.

Opening day (first split) after puddlers:

Later that night we had a Halloween Party for the kids:

Opening Day of the second split began with clearing out the boat launch. It turned out to be a good day, Molly got to retrieve her first goose along with some divers:

Some of you might recognize the guy and his dog on the left. John and Trader came up for a couple oldsquaw hunts. I'm glad we got a couple birds on the first day. On the second morning, the heavy snow in this picture preceded a major, unpredicted wind shift. Before we even got to uncase the guns, we had to pick up a big ball of decoys and head back to the launch. However we did get to have a nice breakfast at the diner.

Our last hunt of the season was with some friends down on Long Island. Here I am sending Molly for a brant that landed over on the flat:

Hope you all enjoyed your season too!

Looks like she had some fun this past season. Is it common for people there to run with plows on their trucks to launch their boats?

Hey John,
Getting blown off the harbor that morning was one of my favorite outings. I'll be up to do it again next year if you'll have me. Molly is comming along very nicely and looks like she did a nice job on that brant.
Glad you're here, Keep the lawnmower out of the way!!
John

Gary: We usually clear the ramps by hand with sledges, spud bars, etc. Being that it was opening day the ice had built up in there pretty thick. It just happened to be that my friend had the plow on his truck. He saved us a good half hour of chopping.

John L.: Yes, Molly and Trader are Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers ("toller" for short).

John Aug: That was a memorable morning! You're welcome back anytime. To tell you the truth, the brant retrieve looks a lot smoother in the photos. She didn't see that bird fall and we've only practiced water to land retrieves a couple times. She eventually figured it out. It's funny that you mention the mower, I now obsessively check to make sure things are out of the way every time I leave the garage!

John,
That is a great looking pup. Nice shots of the season. It seems that your retriever handles the cold extremely well. Thanks for sharing.
Al

John, Your Molly is a pretty Toller. I'd bet your happy with her.

I sure could have used you and that plow truck a few times at the end of our duck season this year. Our local ramps were a nightmare!
