And here is a couple prime examples of the normal water ways you would hunt in that north west area of Wyoming. Common species harvested on a days hunt include Mallards, wigeon, gadwall, geese (primarily greater Canadians with a few cacklers), common golden eye, blue wing and green wing teal, and common mergansers, but on occasion a hunter can take a Barrows golden eye, pintail, and even a ring neck or two.

That picture with the stream and hills in the background makes me want to go there. We just don't have anything like it around here. I wonder if the people that live there think our scenery in N Al is beautiful. I guess it depends on what you are used to seeing.

It?s one of my favorite places I?ve gotten to travel through by far, I have even entertained the thought of going up in the summer so I can really explore the park. They may think N AL is pretty but they just won?t be able to see very far[whistle]

Had a good dinner at the rib and chop house (photo center). I liked the feel of Cody.

How do yo decide on whether to trout fish or duck hunt????

Beautiful photos.

Carl its nice to meet ya Im Jade! Man I guess that just depends on the weather how long of a trip you have planned my buddies have been tearing up the trout the last month or so. From what I understand the fishing is phenomenal, just one more reason to go back in the summer and explore the park!

Welcome Jade. Beautiful pictures! I love heading out west and getting to enjoy downtown views like that. It is one of the many things that I look forward to in my fall travels.

Hey there Dani! And yes the journey to the hunt and really taking in all of the little things is one of my favorite parts. It is probably why I enjoy photography so much, I get to highlight the little things just as much as the big things. And thank you very much for the complement I have a ton of images and I will post daily I decided to start this off with Wyoming, but I thing North Dakota is next!

Welcome Jade, those are some nice pictures. I certainly love the Wyoming mountains although I am much more drawn to Tensleep than Cody. Cody has too much commercial influence and California millionaires for my liking

Your photos remind me of a family trip I took when I was a young boy. Dad saved up one month of vacation when we lived in Southern California. We drove from there to Detroit and hit all the major state parks and sites along the way. I was only about 7 or 8 but clearly remember the sites to this day. Your pictures bring back those memories. The Grand Tetons and in Wyoming were part of that trip.

Nice to meet ya Mr. Hauck! I completely agree. I never stay in Cody I usually just fly into Cody and take a quick drive, I have not made up my mind on sharing the honey hole of a town or not that I usually stay in[ninja]
Last New Year Eve the first time I light footed fellow ever tried to pick me up was in Cody so be vigilant [whistle]

Mr. Patterson, I am glad I brought back a good memory! Being a Southern boy the west has been a whole new kind of beauty. North western Wyoming is on of the very few places that I have traveled to that just felt like home as soon as I got there.

Earlier you mentioned taking Barrow's Golden Eye. Years ago I was told that Barrow's do use the Snake River so it stands to reason Wyoming gets some of those birds. Maybe not in high enough numbers to guarantee success, but a guy wanting to get a trophy like that might not have to go all the way to the Pac NW.

Eric

Edit: The attached pic verifies that is part of their breeding range. I did not know that until now.
