14' boat help

Just purchased a 14' flatbottom jon and im looking for pictures or ideas on some upgrades. Im going to camoclad the whole outside of boat and line-x the whole inside as well as the hull. Has anyone seen pictures of something similar? Or herd if that much line-x is a bad idea on a 14' boat? Im pretty much dead set on the flyway specialty easy-up blind (anyone had one?) Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

Jay

line x is gonna add a lot of weight to a 14 foot boat. camo clad is great for making a fashion statement, but as far as hiding the boat, paint would do a lot better (less shine). boat blinds are a ness evil, your usually a lot better off with old style camo netting and pulling into the buckbrush or trees or whutever cover is there. a square jon boat with a square blind on it sticks out like a sore thumb. travis

i have too agree on the camo clad and linex very heavy very shiny id say stencil kit and some paint then like a rubber mat does you jon have a floor in it? of so id do a rubber mat and roll it up when transporting youll find the boat is noisy at least my 1448 is
as far as bnlinds go ill disagree with whomever said ya cant make a pop up style blind work on a square boat thats all i hunt out of for the most part id use emt and bimini parts

Depends on where ya at in the flyway bro. Sore thumbs don't kill many ducks around these parts. travis (who's had an avery on a boat since they came out, and finally took it off and set it next to a shed).

Here's a step by step on one of the 14' starcraft jon boats I painted, using colors we developed through PPG for Starcraft.
Start with boat from factory.........and we sanded it.

Then sprayed an epoxy primer (PPG) (below)jon02prime.jpg.

Then base coated with our Starcraft Camo Light Brown.

Followed (below) with pinstriping with Starcraft Camo Dark Brown and an automotive
Pin-striper brush. Works great.

Here are a couple more shots of some boats we've done in the Brown Reed-stripe
pattern to match the marsh. We went right into the paint lab with the PPG guys
and worked with them to match the paint directly to the fall reed colors. It works.

Gotta agree about the camo-clad & line-ex, just not needed. I camoed my boat with three cans of brown, black & dark green spray paint & the ducks dont know the difference.
As far as blinds, build you own. I built my cerex blind for less than $100.00: Three sheets of cerex, 8 pvc poles, 16 conduit straps, some zip ties, 6 small eye bolts and a couple of bungees. I will try to post some pics of it tomorrow.

Gallon of od green duck boat boat paint, some flat black & flat gray spray paint to make stripes and break up the hard lines. it'll wear off on edges and cornors, but takes 90 seconds to touch back up. colors of course gonna depend on where you hunt, and some people would be driven insane by not doing something right (like lou did it right, id pour paint out of the can on the boat and spread from there! hehe). btw lou, thats a kewl old truck yur bro is driving there. travis

Travis, glad you like the truck. It was made up of parts from 4 or 5 vehicles if I recall. Here's a pic before we shot paint on it.
Had to be careful where you parked it though....parking lot-no problem.......in the marsh-problem. ;)

Here is my cerex blind diagram and a picture of it on the water. I lowered it a little bit. Also, we always carry some cane or bushy bamboo too put around the boat to break up the outline and hold it in place. I meant to get some better picture this year but didnt get around to it.
