16 gauge reload recipes?

Guys I just purchased a 1906 LC smith 16 gauge.
Looking for some “classic double” low pressure bismuth recipes for 2.5” shells for late season waterfowling.

Can’t find any in stock , so probably about to order a press and begin making my own .

I’ve used Boss 16ga ammo in my Ithaca pump for ducks and geese works great if that helps.

16 Ga.com has everything a person needs for shooting the classic 16ga guns for short hunting loads your going to probably need to reload your own

www.claysammo.com would be worth checking and, if they don't have something listed, even calling. They carry a Spanish shotshell called Armusa that seems to specialize in lighter, more traditional loads. I know I've seen the 2.5" shells there, but no idea whether they currently have them.

I've been favorably impressed with the Armusa shells - have bought both 16g and 28g shells from them. Cheaper, frankly, than similar gauge shells from more common names, and cleaner.

Another option, far less expensive in the long run, is to simply rechamber your shotgun to 2 3/4" shells. Any competent gunsmith can perform this and there are many low pressure shells available for older guns. B&P comes to mind in 16 gauge. RM
