2 3/4" 12 ga favorite loads for ducks?

I cut a crusty looking 7.5 hevishot 2-3/4" open yesterday to see if it had clumped together. Not sure if they corroded or not. But the mention of round has me interested. The shot looked like welding slag. Many of the shot had smaller balls adhered to them. Also, I was working on a project for a friend who owns a gun store, and he offered as a tip a couple boxes of my favorite shell, which also happened to be the 2-3/4" 7.5 hevishot. In our conversation he stated that hevishot is a by product of some other process, but he wasn't sure, and this was the reason for the limited supply. Anyone know anything about this?
Gene, the 2 3/4" 7.5 is my preferred load for jump shooting puddle ducks while sculling.
 
Its not the shot, its the shooter. I've shot 2.75 for years and its easy
one the shoulder with a quicker recovery/folow up shots. Lower
pressures mean less recoil. Just have fun with it.

I use Federal #7 shot Dove loads for duck hunting. 95% of my shots are within 30 yards (the other 5% is at 35 yds). It is wicked and I can afford $55.00 per case. I even put down a snow goose this year with this load when I had a single come by.

Boy I can sure use some relief on my damaged shoulder anyway. I'm looking forward to giving these lighter loads a shoot. As always this site proves to be helpful and members are great!

Al, come on 30yds thirty feet maybe? Ya ole ditch jumper I've seen your photos. HAHAHA:) Seriously I've always wanted to try them Sm. shot sizes with sm ducks on beaver ponds. There has to be a pile of them in 7.5's in 1oz load.

I always set my farthest decoy at 30 yards and normally don't shoot outside that range. When the ducks come in they are usually inside that last decoy.
Yes, I'll admit that I have shot some close ones. As I told you, I was raised jump shooting and still use the snap shot method when shooting.

Al, I would float a local river in the afternoon after hitting the swamps the morning of my youth. Now I just want to wake a nap. In October It was so beautiful quitely floating the river with leaves turning and jumping the woodies and mallards.

I've used #6 steel for a long time even before I started using the double gun. They
work great on woodies and early ducks. I also use them when we're hunting out of the box
for divers. When lead was legal we shot 7 1/2 trap loads.
