2008-2009 Traveling Decoy

I would love to participate, but I cant promise to have a bird done by the deadline. Plenty waiting for paint, but found out Saturday that Michele is pregnant. Looks like there's at least one thing I can do well. Interesting how quickly the outlook on things changes. I'm heading down to VA and NJ wednesday and wont be back for a couple weeks. I have a little thinkin to do to see what I may be able to get some paint on.
 
I give in and go first: so here they are. They have a little detailing and keeling to do but they are the best these old wind blown fronds will get from me. If one of these does not get picked for the swap bird, I will auction off the better of the two with payment going to the site. These were hacked out of palms growing along the embarcadero, basswood heads, tack eyes and oil paints - so at least the nostalgic factor of a CA decoy is there.

Congratulations Paul, I couldn't have described fatherhood better. I think we'll accept your excuse (the pregnant wife part...not the part about going to NJ and VA)

OK, I will go with Hitch's suggestion. I will offer up a wigeon. Either the one that Hitch posted or one of his brothers.

Jay, I'll post up another thread late tonight for the official vote, Wednesday through friday, although you can't vote yet, you are welcome to start campaigning ;)
 
I'm not going to have a decoy in the mix this year. I'll be lucky to get the 8 I have ready for paint done before the season.

That's fine Dave...I see you are going to avoid the pregant wife excuse. I actually just got the keel on my goose last night. It seems most guys are behind schedule this year.

I have a journal ready, I'll be sending it your way this week, since your the lead off batter.
