The Old Florida Outdoor Festival will feature birding, fishing, hunting, shooting sports, Highwaymen art, kids activities, a local farmer’s market, backyard chili cook-off, DockDogs, and Florida Barbecue Association BBQ cook-off.
Fishing & Hunting Pavilion:
Stop by the Fishing & Hunting Pavilion at Old Florida Outdoor Festival, where you’ll find a number of outdoor products, meet with folks from conservation clubs, hunting camps and the like. Seminars will be available from local captains & area experts on offshore & inshore fishing, gator hunting, and lady angling. In the Kid’s Pavilion, “hook” up with Teen Sport Fishing Association where kids can learn to cast.

Shoot Straight Exhibitions:
Hunters and shotgun sportsmen will have the opportunity to see various trick shooting displays at Old Florida Outdoor Festival, brought to you by Shoot Straight.
See Beretta’s Travis Mears and Benelli’s Tim Bradley put on shows as they put their shooting skills on exhibition.
Meet with Shoot Straight staff and local gun reps, located west of the Amphitheater.
National Dockdogs Competition:

Competitive jumping and retrieving dogs from around the country will gather at Old Florida Outdoor Festival to compete in a National Dock Dogs competition. This display of canine athleticism will be on display Saturday and Sunday of the event. Four competitions will take place: Big Air, Extreme Vertical, Speed Retrieve, and Iron Dog, which are competitions open to any dog, 6 months or older.
DockDogs uses ESPN GIS technology to judge these dogs. Dogs will jump off of a dock, constructed temporarily at Northwest Recreation Complex, into an above ground pool for the contests. DockDogs has been featured on the Outdoor Network, ABC, and ESPN.
Wildlife & Conservation Pavilion:
The CARE Foundation, an Apopka non-profit group providing a sanctuary for animals of all kinds, will be on site with educational seminars, as well as photo opportunities with their Florida Panther, spider monkey, alligators, birds and more.
Avian Reconditioning Center, a care facility for birds of prey, will have various birds of prey on site for display, including bald eagles. Falconers from ARC will also host Harris Hawk flyings on Saturday and Sunday of the Festival.

Florida Landscape & Wildlife Art:
The Old Florida Outdoor Festival art pavilion will feature wildlife and native Florida landscapes, as well as decoys and knife crafters. The crowd will get to choose their favorite artists’ work in the People’s Choice Art Awards.
In addition to current artists' work, we’ll also feature a display of original Highwaymen paintings, and appearances from seven of the Original Highwaymen.

Join us for tours of Lake Apopka Restoration Area, included free with Festival admission. Registration & a schedule of tours will be available in January, please email agreene@apopka.net if you’re interested in participating.
Lake Apopka History:
Noted as the former Bass Capital of the Nation, Lake Apopka was once home to 29 fish camps and was the second largest lake in Florida.
Tour Takers:
The 20,000+ acre Restoration Area has the most varied inland wetland bird population in the state, boasting 346 different species. Hailed as the best bird watching destination in the area, we will run tours for 2 days of the festival.
Evenings at the Festival will be celebrated with national country music recording artists performing concerts at Northwest Recreation Center’s Amphitheater.
